DR. HEATHER J. LEIDY

Dr. Leidy is an Associate Professor & Director of the Clinical Research Center in the Dept. of Nutrition Science at Purdue University. She has received the American Society of Nutrition Mead Johnson Nutrition Award in recognition of outstanding research in environmental & nutritional physiology.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. RENÉ JACOBS

Dr. Jacobs holds an academic position in the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science at the University of Alberta. His research is supported by grants from CIHR, NSERC, CFI, and ALMA. He was a CIHR New Investigator and has published over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. NICHOLAS FULLER

As a researcher at the University of Sydney, Dr. Fuller's work focuses on the causes, prevention and treatment of obesity and metabolic disorders. Having worked in the industry both corporate & academic, Nick has investigated dietary & exercise programmes and the economics of obesity.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. CHRISTOPHER BLESSO

Dr. Blesso is an assistant professor with research experience in the areas of clinical and molecular nutrition. His research interests focus on preventing complex, nutritionally-modifiable chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. STUART PHILLIPS

Dr. Phillips is a full Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and School of Medicine at McMaster University. He is Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Skeletal Muscle Health. His research is focused on the impact of nutrition and exercise on human protein turnover, specifically in skeletal muscle.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. DOUG PADDON-JONES

Dr. Paddon-Jones is a Professor of Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Research in the Paddon-Jones Lab is supported by NIH, NASA and industry grants and focuses on the regulation of muscle mass and function in healthy and clinical populations.

 

 

 

 

 

MR. RANDY GREEN

Randy Green, partner at Watson Green, has seen food and agriculture policy from all sides. He has been closely involved in the development of 5
multi-year farm bills, as well as major legislation affecting derivatives, financial reform, food safety
& nutrition.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. JOANNE L. SLAVIN

Dr. Slavin is a professor in the Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota and teaches Advanced Human Nutrition. With the help of current and former graduate students, she has authored more than 250 scientific articles.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. MARC ANTON

Dr. Anton is the Director of the Biopolymer Interactions Assemblies Unit of INRA Nantes. He is the author of about 95 international scientific papers, 3 books, 20 book chapters and 4 patents.

 

 

 

 

 

MR. TIM LAMBERT

For more than a decade, Tim Lambert has been the Chief Executive Officer of Egg Farmers of Canada. He serves as Vice Chair of the International Egg Commission (IEC) and Chair of numerous committees at the international level.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. DONG UK AHN

Dr. Ahn works at Iowa State University in the Department of Animal Science. He has devoted his career to research and education of Animal Products and Processing Technology. His research involves identifying and harnessing the value-added potential of functional proteins found in eggs.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. AKIHIRO HANDA

Dr. Handa is a principal corporate scientist in the R&D division of Kewpie Corporation, working on improvements of the functions of eggs. He has spent 5 years in the corporate planning division in Kewpie making mid-term business plans for its egg-related subsidiaries.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. HAJIME HATTA

Dr. Hatta has researched eggs for 36 years since graduating from Osaka City University. He holds an academic position in Kyoto Women’s University. He has organized the egg yolk antibody (IgY) research project funded by the Japanese Science & Technology Agency. .

 

 

 

 

 

DR. HISHAM IBRAHIM

Dr. Ibrahim is a full Professor at Kagoshima University. His research focuses on the discovery of bio-active peptides & proteins with therapeutic potential for the treatment of infectious diseases, cancers, inflammation, oxidative & cardiovascular disorder related diseases.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. JONATHAN MERKLE

Dr. Merkle is the Chief Science Officer and Vice President of Science and Technology for Michael Foods, Inc. He has been awarded numerous US and international patents in the area of egg processing. He is a professional member of IFT and was awarded the Fellow distinction in 2010.

 

DR. TAMER AHMED

Dr. Ahmed works for the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa. His research areas include biomedical applications of eggshell, stem cell research & regenerative medicine, and clinical chemistry.

 

 

 

 

 

DR. JAMES HOUSE

Dr. House is Head of the Dept. of Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba. His primary research areas consist of understanding the factors regulating sulphur amino acid metabolism in animals, developing functional foods of animal origin & determining factors influencing the quality of dietary proteins.

 

 

 

 

 

MR. MIKE VANDERPOL

Mr. Vanderpol is President of Vanderpol's Eggs, and is a Director on the board of the Egg Farmers of Canada representing Canadian egg processors. He is committed to the continuous improvement of the egg and poultry industries in Canada.
